Rajasthan known for its culture, sand and food is the eight largest state in terms of economy in India. The industrial sector is undergoing major changes with an annual growth of 6.9%. Although there are many other industries yet the major pushing force behind the economy is agriculture. There is about 20 million hectares of land for cultivation in Rajasthan but owing to desert just 20% of this land is irrigated. Maize, barley, gram, wheat and pulses are the chief crops.

Then there is an industrial sector that is the major part of the economy. Many small to medium enterprises has led to this growth. Rugs and carpets, textile, jewelry making, gem stones, and handicraft are some of the major industries. Also it is one of the major destinations for the investment after Maharashtra and Gujrat. Because of this, city Bhiwadi of Rajasthan that is facing NCR is growing very quickly because of many automobile companies as well as real estate. Also there is less power shortage and owing to this many small scale industries are now shifting to the borders of Rajasthan that are close to NCR. RIICO ( Rajasthan Industrial Development and Investment Corporation) is playing a huge role in the industrial development of Rajasthan.

Jaipur is home to integrated IT park and known as Mahindra World City Jaipur that is made on 3,000 acres of land. Infosys, Genpact, Wipro are few to name among the big giants. Millions of IT jobs have been created by these IT industries so the problem of unemployement has also been solved to a great extent in the state.

The state is also one of the major places for cement. Rajasthan is the second largest cement resource as it is an eminent location for quarrying and mining. Also there are many copper mines at Khetri, salt mines at Sambhar and zinc mines at Dariba and Zawar. Also Rajasthan is the major source of marble. Very high quality marble is obtained from the quarries of Rajasthan. National share for marble is 90%. For Jasper and Wollastonite the total share is 100%. So there are many Rajasthan tenders pertaining to various industries.

Tourism is always a very big industry in Rajasthan. Each year many tourists visit the palaces and market in Jaipur, deserts of Bikaner & Jaisalmer and lakes of Udaipur. About eight percent of domestic products are because of tourism in Rajasthan. Some of the major as well as neglected palaces have been converted to revenue generated heritage hotels. Also the state of Rajasthan is known for its rich heritage, culture and handicrafts. The tourism industry ultimately has given a boost to the handicraft business.

All the industries perform their function either through direct transactions or through the Rajasthan tenders. Some big business houses as well as government sectors look for the promising suppliers by issuing tenders for different projects. Government from time to time churn out many important govt tenders in Rajasthan. So keep a great vigil on these Rajasthan tenders so that you do not miss out any thing great.
